The Kylie Lip Kit: Celebrity hype or a quality product?

Me wearing 22! I ordered Mary Jo K,
but was sent this, a lighter red with some
hints of orange.
I did it…I fell into the Kardashion/Jenner black hole.  I bought a Kylie lip kit.  I don’t think any of them should be winning a noble peace prize, but I couldn’t deny that Kylie had some amazing colors in her line of matte lipsticks.  It was decided, I was going to get my hands on a lip kit, something that’s harder then it should be.  My first attempt of acquiring one had me following Kylie Jenner and Kylie Cosmetics on both Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat.  I even downloaded her app, but then immediately deleted it when you had to “subscribe” for an additional $2.99 a month to access the full app along with the lip kit restock times.  NOPE, wasn’t gonna do it, but I still got my hands on a kit! I noticed a comment on one of the Kylie Cosmetics Instagram pics saying that they post all the restock announcements, and that’s how I got mine.  In case you’d like to get your hands on one here are the two accounts I follow to get all the announcements, simply.chanelle, and lipkitbykylieupdates.  I guess there was actually one today! I’m sorry I missed it I wanted to be able to include the next time in this post! But if you follow both of these accounts you will defiantly get your hands on one. Also if you decide to give it a shot, go to her website KylieCosmetics.com right at the release time, there usually gone in about 10 minutes or less.
Now that you know how to get one I can start my review. The lip coast $29.99 and it includes a lip liner and the liquid lipstick.  Some may think that’s high, but I was more bummed about the $8 shipping.  The lip kit arrived in a week, something I was honestly pleasantly surprised about.  I was excited to check it out. First impression, they sent me the wrong color!!! I e-mailed the company and am waiting on a reply.  I didn’t want to open it in case they needed me to send it back, but I did actually think about getting this color, and I wanted to get this posted!  Before I put on any lipstick or gloss I use a lip scrub by lush.  It removes any dead skin and allows for a smooth application.  I started with the lip liner (forgive me I haven’t got the perfect lines down yet), and followed with the liquid color.  With past experience with liquid lipsticks I do suggest using only one layer.  If you do two they kind of fight with each other and tend to flake off.  At first the lip kit felt quite dry on my lips, but I was kind of expecting it.  The dryness did go away after about a half hour.  One great thing about this kit is how light weight it feels! Another liquid lipstick I use is Stila, and that feels so much heavier.  So far I’ve had it on for four hours and it hasn’t smudged or flaked at all, something Stila seems to do a couple hours in, or after eating lunch.   Another plus with the lip kits is that it comes with a perfectly matching lip liner.  When I buy a new Stila color, that’s $20 alone, but they I also need to try to find a matching lip liner for another $20.  So when you look at it like that the lip kit is actually quite a deal.  Over all the lipstick did a pretty old job of staying on through out my day. I applied it at 1:00, and I didn't notice much of a difference until after I had supper tonight. I had ate earlier with it though and it was perfect afterwards so you defiantly don't have to starve yourself to ensure all day color!🙌🏼.  If I had to chose between the Kylie lip kit and Stila's all day liquid lipstick I would choose the lip kit. It was more light weight, flaked less, and it includes a loner that you know will be the right match. I know I'm surprised too!
Time to take it off!
